Example of our 73m2 ground floor house
The floor plan on the right illustrates our concept for twin homes. These ground floor houses are built back-to-back with two or three units per plot, although we usually build more units using multiple plots.
This brings down the repercussion of the land price, and allows us to share certain structural elements, roofs etc. between the two houses.
The size of the house - 6m x 12m - allows us to make maximum use of building materials which come in multiples of 3 and 6 m. (10 resp. 20 ft.)
All rooms are completely identical and the home design is completely symmetrical, which provides benefits in both procurement and quality as well as speed of execution.
Jobs like tiling the floors are made more efficient by using exact multiples of floor tiles wherever possible.
Bathrooms of the two homes are located centrally and back to allow for a minimum need of plumbing.
We return some of these cost savings to the home buyers by providing them with "luxury" items which are normally not delivered by the competition and expensive to buy "retail" - such as kitchen furniture and a glass front shower room.
The central part of the house benefits from a higher ceiling height, which provides both a feeling of space, ventilation, and natural lighting.
It also allows buyers to later add on stairs and a second floor with minimum effort - a much appreciated option.
Last but not least - with about 72m2, these homes are about 50% larger than the typical house offered by the competition - at the same price.
